Security in focus
Recap of the ISG Bahnhofsviertel summer festival
On 7 July the annual summer festival of the Immobilien- und Standortgemeinschaft (ISG) Bahnhofsviertel Münster e.V. took place – this year with a clear thematic focus: security in the station district.
Guests included Mayor Markus Lewe, Police President Ms Dorndorf, Münster’s mayoral candidates, representatives of the city and politics, local owners and businesses – all with a shared goal: to make the station district a safer and more liveable place for everyone.
We were there with our own stand and used the opportunity to present our security concept for the station district. At the centre was a concrete measure: setting up a city patrol.
Be present. Strengthen security. Act together.
The idea is as simple as it is effective: a professional security patrol that regularly moves through the station district, is visible and therefore both prevents and can respond quickly. The patrol should be visible especially in the evening and at night, sending a clear signal: this district is not a space for vandalism, harassment or insecurity.
This project can only succeed if many take part. Funding for the patrol is to be carried jointly by local businesses, owners and interested parties. The goal: at least 50 supporters so the project can be implemented sustainably.
Security is a community matter
The many conversations during the summer festival showed that awareness of the security situation is there. Many stakeholders share the wish to contribute actively – whether from a business interest, from responsibility for staff, or simply because they want a safe environment.
Special thanks go to Ms Deutschländer of the ISG, who gave us the opportunity in advance to present our security concept at the summer festival and to talk with participants. We are pleased that our concept met with strong interest and thank the ISG warmly for organising and inviting us to this important event.
