Corporate Social Responsibility
Corporate social responsibility describes the voluntary contribution of business to sustainable development that goes beyond legal requirements. We expect this responsible, far-sighted conduct from all employees and officers of the KMS group – referred to below as employees.
We are an ethically minded company that strives to do the right thing. Our code of conduct requires integrity from our staff. We work only with partners and suppliers who meet our standards. All of this is set out in our compliance policies and in our corporate social responsibility (CSR) statement, which is available to clients, partners and employees.
We consider the long-term consequences of our actions and take care of the resources we use. Wherever possible, our aim is to reduce emissions and waste in order to protect the environment.
Our environmental impact
Sustainability is becoming ever more important. Every company, including ours, leaves an ecological footprint. We continually look for ways to protect the environment, produce less waste, reduce CO2 and use resources more effectively. Environmental management is therefore part of developing products, implementing processes and writing work instructions – not only to meet environmental law, but to go beyond it.
The same applies to choosing suppliers, for example for our uniforms, products for end clients, or our day-to-day operations. We plan to build a fully electric company fleet within the next four years, to reduce the CO2 emissions of intervention services, and to make other products carbon-neutral.
Responsible business practices
As a group we have a particular duty to respect, promote and uphold the principles of ethical and social responsibility in relation to human rights, the workplace and working conditions, to prevent discrimination, to ensure equal treatment and to maintain fair relationships.
Our compliance policies comprise a set of fundamental standards and criteria that apply to everyone who works for or with the KMS group. They are our ethical and legal compass. They are intended not only to ensure compliance with established international standards and to meet our clients’ needs, but also to guide us and affiliated companies in dealing with one another and with the public, and to stand against discrimination, child labour, exploitation and human-rights abuses.
Equal treatment & inclusion
Alongside our commercial work we meet our social obligation by employing people with disabilities and others who face disadvantage in the labour market. Through support at the start of employment, training or individual concepts, every employee is integrated into the company.
Discrimination on grounds of race, ethnic origin, sex, religion, belief, disability, age or sexual identity is strictly prohibited. This applies in particular to dealings with colleagues, staff and business partners, and to hiring, promotion or dismissal.
Supplier & partner relationships
We expect the same correct conduct from our suppliers and partners as we expect from ourselves. Breaches of the minimum wage, collective agreements, occupational health and safety or environmental rules can lead to immediate termination of the relationship. We therefore select suppliers and partners carefully and stay in dialogue to ensure they meet our ethical standards. Child labour, minimum-wage breaches, exploitation or human-rights abuses are not tolerated.
